Is Infrared Heat Safe? Is an Infrared Body Wrap safe to use?
Yes, Infrared Body Wraps are not only safe but quite beneficial, but as with any product you may want to try and use, it is always best to get the most information possible. It is always best, if you should have any questions or concerns to always check with your physician or health care provider before beginning any treatment. As long as we use Infrared as prescribed and understand what we are using it for, it is safe. Infrared heat is within the same frequency levels as our own body heat and this is in tune with our own energy field.
It is, therefore, safe and compatible for us to use, allowing deep heat penetration that is not possible with other methods of heating. It is important to understand that we are not doctors and do not prescribe medical advice, so please seek advice from your doctor if you have any debilitating physical ailments. There is a very good chance, however, that your doctor is quite familiar with the benefits of infrared heat therapy and will applaud you for using it. Far infrared radiation (FIR) is considered harmless for a human. Infrared heaters are even used to heat premature babies in hospitals incubators because of the many health benefits infrared heat provides.
(If you are on medications or have physical conditions, you should consult your physician before using any deep heating treatment.)
How Do Hot Tubs and Steam Saunas Compare to Infrared Heat or Infrared Body Wraps?
An Infrared Body Wrap makes the body perspire profusely which allows the blood to circulate faster in a shorter period of time at a lower temperature which is far more effective than a Steam Sauna or Hot Tub. By perspiring you are allowing your body to remove waste products that are trapped below the skin. You are also helping your skin to breathe and shed old skin cells. Through the natural process of sweating you stimulate circulation which is how you speed up your metabolism.
Conventional saunas use steam and operate at extremely high temperatures which may be unsafe for the very young or elderly. Further, surfaces in a traditional sauna can reach temperatures that can cause burns. Infrared saunas achieve the same benefits at far lower operating temperatures.
The lower heat range is safer for those concerned about cardiovascular risk factors that might be adversely affected by the higher temperatures encountered in Steam Saunas. Those with breathing problems such as Asthma can use our Far Infrared Body Wrap due to the lower temperature and no humidity, allowing a longer sauna session for a deep sweat that these individuals usually do not enjoy.
Due to the harsh operating conditions in a traditional sauna, a sound system to enjoy while you are relaxing in your sauna is out of the question. On the other hand, you can enjoy your favorite music or television show while in an Infrared Body Wrap.
What are doctors saying about the need for Infrared Heat therapy?
"A Crisis More Dire Than Global Warming!" ...we've all become toxic dumpsites for dangerous chemicals
Scientists estimate that everyone alive today carries within their bodies at least 700 contaminants. Doris J Rapp, M.D., past president of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, warned, "Everybody in this country needs to be detoxified because we've all become 'toxic dumpsites."
Oz called them "the next life extension tool"
Far Infrared Sauna's increase the body's core temperature producing a very deep and detoxifying sweat from the cellular level of the skin where the majority of toxins are stored. Far Infrared waves provide concentrated radiant energy similar to the Sun without the harmful UV rays. NASA
In the early 1980's NASA concluded that Infrared stimulation of cardiovascular function would be the ideal way to maintain cardiovascular conditioning in astronauts on long space flights.
When Should I Drink Water and How do I stay Hydrated?
You should drink water before and after your session. Additional water is needed after your session to flush out lost toxins released from your fat cells. Failure to flush out these unwanted wastes can cause many people to feel slightly nauseated for a few hours.
So drink water before and after a session as this allows the body to stay hydrated, and replaces body fluids that have been sweated out during the session. Sometimes if someone sweats excessively, electrolyte replacement may be needed and we offer the client some electrolyte replenishing drink.
How Often Can I Get an Infrared Wrap Treatment?
This will depend on a person's lifestyle. If a person is very physically active undertaking significant walking, jogging, working out, or competitive sports, the Infrared heat therapy can be used as often as every 2 days. For best results it is preferable right before a workout as this will help burn the most dramatic amount of calories and also has maximum impact on body definition.
With relatively physically inactive people, a minimum of 3 days between sessions is recommended. More regular sessions are unnecessary and may actually be detrimental to results. Upon reaching the intended body shape, it is possible to revert to maintenance only schedule, which for most people, should be around 2 – 4 times a month.
How Does it Increase My Metabolism?
The heat produced by the Infrared Body Wrap Treatment is similar to that of a cardiovascular or physical workout all while laying down for a period of fifty minutes. This Infrared heat stimulates the metabolism and increases blood circulation just like it would with a workout session. It will also increase your heart rate and increase blood circulation.
This increased circulation will increase your Basic Metabolic Rate and by doing so consumes or burns calories. As you relax in the gentle Infrared Body Wrap treatment, your body is actually hard at work producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart will work harder to pump blood at a greater rate to boost blood circulation.
Can I use a tanning bed and a Infrared body wrap on the same day?
Due to the fact that both the tanning bed and the Infrared Body Wrap system give off Infrared heat, it's quite possible to receive a burn or heat rash if doing both on the same day. Due to this fact, tanning and using the Infrared body wrap on the same day is not recommended – especially if you're fair skinned and prone to burning. Of course tanning the previous or the next day is perfectly fine.
Can Everyone Use an Infrared Wrap?
Virtually everyone from all walks of life can gain benefit from Infrared heat therapy. However, sessions should not be undertaken unless clients have received their Doctor's advice where any of the following conditions exist: Over activity of the thyroid gland, cardiac infraction, cardiac weakness, constriction of the coronary blood vessels, mark high or low blood pressure, diabetes with required insulin treatment, disturbances to the function of the kidneys and associated organs, fever, severe general infection, contact allergies, skin diseases, open wounds, newly acquired shingles, pregnancy, prescribed medicines causing increased sensitivity to physical stimulation (for example: antibiotics), cases of severe varicose veins. If any doubt exists, it is recommended that clients seek their doctor's or health practitioner's advice before the use of Infrared Body Wrap
